Our Story
It Begins in the Navajo Nation
The story of HumaneFrame does not begin in a Silicon Valley boardroom.
In 2022, Jon Mott and Moroni Benally began a conversation that would evolve into a massive macroeconomic undertaking. Moroni, a Diné leader, saw a reality every day that corporate data couldn't capture: a community full of immense talent, surrounded by an economy that couldn't see it.
The numbers were staggering. Fifty percent unemployment. Roughly 75,000 people un- or underemployed. Two thousand high school graduates produced each year, with only two hundred new jobs created locally to absorb them. The traditional hiring system — reliant on rigid degrees, opaque job descriptions, and gut-feeling interviews — had built an invisible wall between capable people and meaningful work.

Jon brought a different lens. With 25 years of experience in competency-based learning and verifiable credentials, he knew the talent marketplace wasn't broken because people lacked ability. It was broken because the signals we use to evaluate ability are broken.
The Proving Ground: Aspire Ability
Together, they launched the Navajo Nation Workforce Transformation Initiative under their first venture, Aspire Ability. The work was unglamorous, manual, and painstakingly detailed. They mapped real jobs to real competencies. They launched the first-ever Navajo Nation job board. They conducted 360-degree stakeholder interviews and raised funding from the Charles Koch Foundation, Slack for Good, GitLab, and the Navajo Nation Tribal Council.

Aspire Ability proved the thesis: when you strip away the proxy metrics and evaluate people based on verified competencies, the talent shortage disappears.
But it also revealed a critical bottleneck. Mapping jobs and coaching individuals manually could not scale to millions of workers. They needed an architecture capable of deeply personalized, lifelong accompaniment for every single learner. They needed an intelligence layer.

Hand the keys to the Nation: a self-sustaining sovereign marketplace
The Breakthrough: HumaneFrame
If Aspire Ability was the methodology, HumaneFrame is the operating system.
What if, instead of a static résumé, a learner had a living, sovereign record of who they actually are and what they can actually do? What if an Agentic AI didn't replace the human advisor, but became a 24/7 Socratic coach guided by principles that keep the learner firmly in the driver's seat?

This architecture found its soul in Moroni's grounding in Diné philosophy. The principle of Sa'ah Naagháí Bik'eh Hózhóón — the pursuit of harmony, balance, and beauty as the animating force of a life well lived — offered something Western ed-tech had never achieved: an epistemological foundation that treats the learner as a whole person embedded in a community, rather than a data point to be processed.
The Coalition: A Sovereign Ecosystem
The Navajo Nation remains our first, and most important, deployment. The work that began in 2022 has forged a coalition of earned trust that no technology can replicate. We are deeply partnered across the entire macroeconomic spectrum of the Nation:
Governance & Trust
The Navajo Nation President's Office and the Navajo Council.
The Labor Demand
The Division of Economic Development, the Navajo Chamber of Commerce, and the Navajo Housing Authority.
The Talent Supply
Navajo Technical University (NTU), Diné College, and the Division of Personnel Management.

We are building toward a future in which the Navajo Nation operates its own self-sustaining, sovereign talent marketplace. HumaneFrame exists to build that infrastructure, prove its impact, and then hand the keys over to the community.
That is what it means to build for sovereignty, not dependency.
What We Learned in the Desert, We Are Building for the World
The "opportunity desert" of the Navajo Nation is a specific place, but the broken talent marketplace it exposes is everywhere. It is in rural America, in historically underserved urban neighborhoods, and in enterprise boardrooms where 50 percent of employers say they can't find the talent they need.
HumaneFrame is our answer. It is not just a product. It is a frame. What started as workforce mapping became an architectural argument — an ARPANET for AI

The system is not designed to make you faster.
It is designed to make you whole.
